don't you hate it when random people want to touch your kid? and you want to say "really? do you see me wiping my nose and touching your face?" that is why I make these.
i LOVE this little siamese-looking kitty! is she velour? where to you purchase your fabrics? the vintage paisley is gorgeous! i just found your blog through your sister's post, and while i don't currently need a car seat cover -- A. toddlers don't sit still well, B. carrying one in a car seat would require arms the size of pythons, and C. florida weather rarely requires extra layers of protection -- your creations are lovely!
thanks! I buy my fabrics anywhere and everywhere. The appliques are all made of fleece so they are very soft but not quite velour. I wanted them all to be washable.
I have posted pictures of all the car seat covers that I have made...several of them have already sold and are not available exactly as you see them. I can, in some cases recreate them, or something very similar. prices vary slightly and range from $55-$65 depending on the complexity, and $8 to ship anywhere in the continental US. if you have questions about anything please contact me at customcovers40@gmail.com or by commenting on this blog. thanks so much for your interest!
I am a housewife and an army wife. moving around is part of the job so I have to keep busy somehow.
it all started with my sweet son gus. he was born at the peak of swine flu and I was worried about taking him out of the house. I descovered that these car seat covers not only keep out stray sneezes from passers by, but they keep hands out, and weather away. I have used it in rain, snow, wind, sun, cold, hot, you name it! I loved it so much I started making them for gifts and eventually people started buying them. each one is entirely hand stitched. each bow is hand made and the appliques are originals designed and hand made by me. I love to make them and hope you will like them too.
